Esther and Mingo Pugliese
Esther and Mingo Pugliese formed a couple characterized by technic continuity and correctness of dancing joined to the extreme elegance in their movements. As teachers, they are wellknown all over the world for the efficance of the method realized by Mingo and named “ Pugliese or mathematic method”, which let people learn improvisation
through the knowledge of its movements whose combinations are mathematically quantified in about 640. For 15 years they have been teaching private lessons for groups at a “amatoriale” level and to professionists. During the consecutive 14 years, they have been organizing school and tango practice in the Club General Belgrano and in the Barrio Porteno in Sant’Elmo. Mingo has been teacher in the “Estilos III” at the Universidad del Tango in Buenos Aires. Mingo and Esther are members of the based staff of teachers in the National Secretary of Culture of the Indipendent City of Buenos Aires. They hold an interchanging partnership with the other tango cities, perfforming
several teaching tours.
They brought tango in the Usa, Japan, Spain, France, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Ireland, England. They are always in touch with the “ School of Dance” of Brasil, teaching in the cities of San Paolo, Belo Horizonte, Riberon,
Prieto, Niteroi, Santos and Rio de Janeiro.In Rio de Janeiro, they joined to the “Encuentro Internacional de Danza Salon”, being invited to all its editions as teachers and dancers. As acknowledgment of their long and valid work in tango, they received several national and international awards, among the most important is the “ Bandoneňn
de oro 2000”, which was given by Solo Tango formed by Julio Boca, Susana Rinaldi and Norma Leandro for their high artistic professionality. They also received awards from the delegation of the Japan Radio and Television.
In the 2005 Esther turned 50 years of dancing and she has been celebrated in the
“ Museum Fur Volkerkunde “of Hamburg, to the presence of autorities from Argentine Consulate. Rejoicings took place in Hannover, Barcellona and Dublin too. In july 2005 , Sitges Festival has been dedicated to Esther Pugliese’s
50 years of tango, on this occasion, she was given the first “pin de oro 18 k”. Between November and December
2005 Esther and Mingo joined, as teachers, to the Monaco Festival and to the Tango Festival in Bretagne.
