Luis Stazo
Stazo Born in Buenos Aires, he started playing bandoneòn at the age of 7 and, at the age of 11, he was already playing in infantil orchestras. Up to the fondation of “ Sexteto Mayor” in 1973, he recorded more than 20 albums and he accompanied the bigs of tango, Osmar Maderna, Angel Vargas, Jorge Fernandez, Lucio Demare, Argentino Galvàn, Alberto Moràn, Roberto Goyeneche, “ El Polaco”. As arranger, he wrote more than 150 arrangements for the “ Sexteto Mayor”. In more than 60 years of career, he played on stages all over the world. Among the awards gained, we can’t forget the Konex, Award of Sadiac” ( Society of writers from Argentina) and “ The Grammy latino 2003”. In his more than 100 compsition, you can find romantic titles like “ No nos veremos màs” and “Orgullo Tanguero”. We mention the arrangments of “ Los 14 de Julio de Caro”, considered the best-ones and appreciated by the other musicians. In the last 20 years, he accompanied with “Sexteto Mayor” the following Broadway productions, “ Tango Argentino” and “ Tango Pasiòn”. Stazo, above all, is a very requested special guest star in synphonic orchestras. For the documentary “ Carmencita”, he wrote a tango that he plays in the same production.
